Organic Agriculture Certification Thailand (ACT) is an independent certification organization established in 1995 by the Alternative Agriculture Network (AAN), a network of 85 Thai NGOs working on sustainable agriculture. Originally named Alternative Agriculture Certification Thailand, ACT decided to focus its services on organic agriculture, and therefore the name was changed to Organic Agriculture Certification Thailand in the early 1998, while keeping the same abbreviation.ACT is an internal body of the Foundation of Organic Agriculture Certification Thailand, a non-profit organization registered with the Thai Interior Ministry since 21 September 2001. In 2017, ACT Organic Company Limited was registered and all inspection-certification activities were transferred to this new company.
